Today (24th), the children from Húlu Elementary School's "Angel Class" participated in the Taipei City Special Education Boccia competition. The athletes competed calmly and cooperated with each other, ultimately winning third place, writing a brilliant chapter for their efforts with the power of the team.

For the Angel Class children, boccia is more than just a sports competition; it is a journey of learning to focus, wait, judge, and cooperate. During regular practice, led by Teacher Zhang Mingyi, they started with basic movements, patiently accompanying the children to familiarize themselves with throwing techniques, controlling force, and competition rules, while also adjusting practice methods according to each child's abilities and characteristics. If a throw wasn't accurate, or the direction was off, the teacher always stayed with the child to try again, making "one more time" the most important support in the children's growth process.

The teamwork on the court was even more touching. The captain, "Ban Ban" (pseudonym), displayed leadership, not only focusing on her own game but also paying attention to her teammates' situations, offering encouragement at the right time, and leading her partners to complete the competition together. The children learned more than just "how to throw the ball accurately"; they understood through repeated cooperation that everyone in the team is important.

In one round, "Xiao Gao" (pseudonym) faced a crucial situation. He calmly observed the position of the balls on the court, and after careful judgment, made a precise throw. The ball rolled steadily towards the target, and the crowd erupted in cheers. In that moment, the cheers of the teacher, teammates, and those on the sidelines intertwined, and the smile on the child's face became the most precious award-winning image.

For the children, every throw on the court is the accumulation of daily practice; for the teachers, it is a testament to accompanying the children as they break through their own limits time and again. When a child throws a beautiful ball, the cheers of teammates, the smiles of teachers, and the high-fives exchanged make the simple competition a precious memory of the team's joint efforts and mutual achievement.

Principal Lai Bo-zong of Húlu Elementary School stated that each child in the Angel Class has a different learning pace, and education is about seeing the children's potential and accompanying them to find their suitable stage. Teachers in the classroom not only teach children a skill but also cultivate focus, frustration tolerance, communication, and cooperation skills through sports, allowing children to build confidence through repeated experiences of "I can try again."
