The school also organized a "Purify the Mind - Pastel Experience," integrating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the concept of teacher self-care. Through colors, creation, and meditation, teachers were guided to become aware of their current emotions and inner states, and to calm their minds and relieve stress through free creation.
Unlike general art classes, the pastel experience does not emphasize painting techniques or the final artwork. Instead, it focuses on the feelings and self-dialogue during the creative process. The school hopes to provide teachers with a safe and comfortable space to temporarily set aside their busy work, re-experience their emotions and needs, and extend the SEL spirit of "first be aware of yourself, then understand others" from student learning to teacher support.
Principal Lai Po-Tsung of Huhu Elementary School stated that in addition to teaching, teachers also bear multiple responsibilities such as class management, parent-teacher communication, and student counseling. While the school emphasizes student learning and physical and mental development, it should also care about the physical and mental well-being of teachers. "When teachers are well taken care of, they have more strength to accompany children well." Teachers' Day is not just about expressing gratitude, but also about creating a campus culture of mutual support and care through practical actions.
From the food truck snacks, festive blessings, to the pastel experience, every arrangement embodies the gratitude and care of the school and the Parent-Teacher Association for the faculty and staff. Huhu Elementary School hopes that "taking care of yourself and taking care of each other" will not just be a one-day activity for Teachers' Day, but will be integrated into the daily campus culture, helping every educational partner accumulate positive energy, and continue to accompany children's learning and growth in a more stable, healthy, and empowered state.
